I acknowledge I write and work on stolen boodjar, of the Wadjuk people of the Noongar Nation and pay my respect to Elders past, present and emerging. I also pay respect to all First Nations of land I have walked and worked on, and created work inspired by these places. As a migrant from Flanders, a country colonised many times and itself part of a colonising nation, Belgium, I am deeply saddened by, and sorry for the harm inflicted on indigenous people. My aim is to tread lightly, to learn and to not take away from First Nations’ people’s understanding and caring for country. Dit is gestolen land, dat toehoort aan de Wadjuk mensen van de Noongar natie. (Flemish, translated: This is stolen land, that belongs to the Wadjuk people of the Noongar Nation)
